Flying Teemu Pulkkinen: Flies out of Fife

Updated: Jul 23

Fife Flyers star player Teemu Pulkkinen has taken the opportunity to sign for the JKH GKS Jastrzębie in Poland. A player many fans would of liked to seen back was Teemu Pulkkinen however, this will not be the case but how will this affect the club?

Teemu Pulkkinen had a brilliant season last year netting 18 league goals and assisting 19 more for a total of 37 points. He quickly became a fan favourite player with his versatile skills, and his skating ability was one of the best in Fife as he had great reaction times and was able to glide around corners and sometimes even players. He had a few notable goals with some coming from penalty shots.

As a fan it’s always tough to see a star player leave however, like always said no player is irreplaceable. This move will be a big loss for the Fife Flyers but with the signings they have been making there’s a chance Pulkkinen is soon to be replaced or already had.

Nikolai Shulga could be Pulkkinen’s replacement. Shulga has already signed for the Fife Flyers at the age of 21 and he brings a fast skilful game and he is able to be the puck when required. Shulga was a key player in the IIHF Continental Cup last season for Nomad Astana as he would put up seven points in six games. He would demonstrate his skill in leagues too for 47 points.

There’s a chance the replacement for Teemu Pulkkinen is already in the team and if not rest assured that Tom Coolen will sign a solid player to replace Pulkkinen. It’s a tough move for Fife Flyers but is not damaging in anyway as they continue to build a strong team.
