New Season, New Era For EIHL News Central: Departure of a Writer; Introduction of New Content

As we get closer to the 24/25 season there are a lot of changes, lots of new topics but also lots of changes on our end too. Whether it is with our constantly developing website or with writers departing for new tenures or new content for everyone to see.

Sadly today it was confirmed that our very own Will Harris would be departing and heading over to Chasing The Puck as one of their writers. This move was a no-brainer for Will, with Chasing The Puck being one of the leading British ice hockey pages who provides plenty of content for the hockey fans and hockey teams. They give us interviews and many articles on various topics surrounding ice hockey in the UK. Will was a key member of the EIHL News Central team with him being the main editor and researcher for us to provide us with stats and news around the league so we could produce many more articles for you. Sadly EIHL News Central fell into a tough period due to the website needing some maintenance and with some people going off on holidays however, when Will got back from his holidays he got articles out quickly while others helped the development of the website and behind the scenes so losing Will is a big change for us. We will be releasing some of Will’s unreleased articles which were due to be released next month however, will be released later this week. We would like to wish Will the best of luck in the future.

As some fans have noticed on our website we now have a tab called teams which when you click brings you to a page with all ten teams and a tiny summary of each and all these teams will be hyperlinked to the teams profile on our website too which will hold their roster, a description of the team and their top players, via the team profile you can click on the players name to view the player profiles which contains details of the player and photos from their career. Please note that these profiles are still under development therefore not all have been made yet.

Along with the Team section we have now made a section called ‘standings’ which contains the league table, Challenge Cup groups, the Challenge Cup wildcard round, the Challenge Cup playoff tree, and the British Championship (EIHL Playoffs) tree. This was made to provide access to a table which is updated at the end of the day after games are played. And it is to provide a view into what the matchups for the playoff rounds are.

We have included a search bar onto the website as well which has been fixed so you can now search for any article you want, any page you want.

We have four articles dropping today focusing on two games and the new changes coming from the EIHL. We will also be dropping team reviews and much more over the coming weeks so stayed tuned.

These changes to the page have been difficult however, we are working tirelessly behind the scenes to get back on track and to keep all the fans updated with the league.
