Rivalry Revamped: Brython Preece Returns to EIHL with Fife Flyers.

Brython Preece, a familiar face in Dundee's hockey scene as a backup goalie, took a detour to the NIHL for the 23/24 season. Now, he's making a comeback to the EIHL with the Fife Flyers, reigniting the fierce rivalry between the Dundee Stars and the Flyers. Known for his versatility and experience as a starter in the NIHL, Preece is poised to compete for crucial minutes in the elite league.

Brython Preece has played for two teams in the EIHL prior to today's signing with the Fife Flyers. He was the backup for the Coventry Blaze before making the move to Dundee to sign as the backup goalie for the Dundee Stars. Preece proved his ability with the Stars, he demonstrated his good low stick side and his high glove side. He tends to play a stand-up game meaning he likes to make saves while standing but he can drop down into the butterfly position when in difficult situations. Preece played 31 games over the course of three seasons totalling a GAA of 3.93 and a SVS% of .869.

Preece departed the Dundee Stars at the end of the 22/23 season after a 10th place finish and signed for the Bees IHC in the NIHL for the 23/24 season. This was a big step in his career as he had made the move from a backup to a starter over the offseason. Preece would start for 44 games with the Bees IHC, the most in his career. He played a well rounded game showing how he can deflect the puck to the sides on saves to make it harder for the opposing team to pick up rebounds, he has quick reflexes and vision. Preece is also able to trace the puck really well which is good as this allows him to make saves in difficult situations. He finished the season with a record of 20-22-0 and a SVS% of .881, he also would sit with a GAA of 4..20. He helped the Bees IHC achieve a low mid table finish (8th out of 11 teams), slotting them into the playoffs; they were put into playoff group A with teams like Hull Seahawks, Peterborough Phantoms, and Leeds Knights. Sadly it was not to be for Preece or the Bees IHC as they finished the playoffs on a record of 0-6-0.

Brython Preece's return to the EIHL with the Fife Flyers marks a significant chapter in his hockey journey. After gaining valuable experience as a backup goalie with Coventry Blaze and Dundee Stars, Preece took a bold step by becoming a starter with Bees IHC in the NIHL. His season with the Bees showcased his ability to adapt and excel in a more demanding role, demonstrating quick reflexes, strategic puck deflections, and strong vision on the ice. Despite the challenges faced during the playoffs, Preece's performance underscored his growth and determination. Now, joining the Fife Flyers, Preece brings his seasoned skills and competitive spirit to reignite the intense rivalry between Dundee and Fife. Fans can anticipate exciting matchups and fierce competition as Preece competes for crucial minutes in the elite league. As he embarks on this new chapter, Preece's journey continues to inspire and showcase his resilience in pursuing excellence on the ice.
